I oppose the proposed Embridge tunnel plan very much. Protecting the Straits of Mackinaw and the Great Lakes is extremely important.

Greetings,
One has to wonder why otherwise intelligent human beings, who know fresh water is inherent to their very survival, would risk fouling that water with dirty oil. Why??? To me, average Joe citizen, keeping dirty oil as far away from fresh waters, ESPECIALLY Great Lakes waters, would be an imperative goal. These waters are precious, priceless, and "Pure Michigan". Let's keep them that way by keeping Enbridge and company away from them. Far away.
C'mon guys, don't mess with a truly GOOD thing, eh????? Please. Thanks, Jack Adams

Can a shorter pipline be assemblied and most of it pushed thru the hole? Then another section be assembled, added to the 1st section and pushed thru the hole and so on.

Re the proposed Pieline 5 - Why in God's name would you even consider letting Enron risk the health of the world's largest fresh water supply ? Period. Please do the right thing for current and future generations and STOP this project. Respectfully - Mike Clark, Grayling MI

A tunnel under the Great Lakes? C'mon-you're engineers, correct? You know this is an extremely fragile area, unstable bedrock, fresh water, etc. You know better, right? And HDD? Enbridge's history with HDD is not good. In fact, dangerous to the environment. Please, please do not allow a tunnel under the Straits. The whole of Line 5 needs to be shut down.

I favor the practice that offers the least amount of risk to the fragile environment of the Great Lakes.

It is unsafe having Line 5 under the Mackinaw Bridge and certainly unsafe building a new one. A new pipeline is an unsafe environmental decision.

If you please, the Great Lakes are treasures of fresh water unique in the world. Our stewardship of these lakes rests on intelligent decision making in regard to the health of the entire Great Lakes Basin. The Line 5 tunnel would not represent an intelligent management
decision at this time for the millions of people
who depend on this fresh water system.

Removing the old and re-building a new pipeline through the Straits of Mackinac by Enbridge poses unimaginable threats to the precious waters, surrounding environments, and wild-life in the Straits and Great Lakes. As a lay person, I am not suited to provide a professional alternative yet I am certain others are able or have already provided suggestions or solutions less dangerous to all.

Line 5 has experienced around 30 releases on land, spilling about 1 million gallons of oil. This company is responsible for the nation’s largest inland oil spills, including a 2010 spill that released more than 1.2 million gallons of oil into the Kalamazoo River.
I oppose any Line 5 pipeline projects whatsoever.
