Supplemental Draft EIS Comments

The decommissioning of Line 5 is long overdue and the risks of leaving this antiquated pipeline in place is indefensible. Replacing Line 5 with a pipeline drilled into the bedrock below the Straits of Mackinac by a company with a long history of poor maintenance is not a viable solution. I am not in support of this pipeline proposal that risks endangering the valuable waters of the Great Lakes.

Please leave our lakes alone. These foreign companies have a concerning track record of NOT maintaining safe systems. If this line were to leak/spill oil, it would cause irreversible damage to our lakes. We only have one chance in this world--you must do your part to help taxpayers protect and sustain it.

No oil pipeline should run through, under, above or near the Great Lakes region. No pipeline is safe as long as those who are in charge of it ignore safety issues and continually monitor the safeguards of the pipeline. I am opposed.

This project is a bait and switch by Enbridge and the army core of engineers after focusing on the tunnel for years.
Enbridge cannot safely perform HDD drilling in the straits of Mackinaw. Their track record in their line 3 expansion project demonstrates this.
This project still forces Michigan taxpayers to carry all risk for a foreign corporation.
I am a grandmother who has been protecting the waters for years now. Can we please do the right thing here for people and not profits? Thanking you for your service to humanity, not corporations.

Enbridge has proven they do not protect our waterways from spills by Duolingo and maintaining fail proof infrastructure. Additionally, tax-payers should not be burdened with the responsibility of cleanup should an oil leak/breach/spill occur.

Please stop this new pipeline patch process

After observing closely for 25 plus years, the lies and misrepresentations and heinous actions of the Canadian government backed oil Giant, Enbridge and associates, I vehemently oppose any continuing constructions within our state or national borders by this foreign entity because it puts a way of life at risk and violates many of the ancient treaties with the Native American Ojibwe, thereby undermining the foundational constitution of this National Republic.

No pipeline is worth the risk to the Great Lakes.

The Great Lakes provide the greatest source of freshwater in the world. They must be protected at all costs. Drilling is far too dangerous, and can cause a major oil spill. It’s reckless, and unwanted by the people of Michigan.

Protect our Great Lakes and deny the Line 5 Oil Tunnel
